PMT PR-680

This unique battery powered portable instrument is the first and only combined fast-scanning 256 element detector spectroradiometer and PMT based photometer on the market. The PR-680 has three available operating modes

 

  1. A spectroradiometer (like the PR-670)
  2. A highly sensitive photometer (like the PR-810)
  3. Auto Select mode which automatically selects between detectors based on the available signal.

Easy to Use

The PR-680 is controlled via the on-board, 2.25" x 3" high resolution, full color touch screen LCD display and 5-way navigation keypad for easy navigation. Following a measurement, the PR-680, displays data and color spectral graphs on the system display. The PR-680 design provides stand alone operation - no PC required. The PR-680 can also be controlled via SpectraWin 2 software over the USB or Bluetooth interface.

Versatility

The unique design of the PR-680L makes tasks such as spectrally based colorimetry and high speed, low level luminance - required for display metrology - possible with a single instrument by supplying a wide dynamic range - 0.001 fL (photometer and 1° aperture) to 5,000,000 fL (spectral and 1/8° aperture) without using external neutral density filters. Since the Pritchard® viewing and measuring optics are shared by both the spectroradiometer and photometer, no realignment of the instrument to the target is required when switching between modes.

An optional analog output provides the capability of using the PMT as a high speed tool for characterizing display ON / OFF response (3 µsec response) or waveform analysis of flash sources. We've further enhanced the versatility by adding two sensitivity modes (Standard & Extended) and 4 measurement speeds : Normal, Fast, 2X Fast, 4X Fast.

For applications other than luminance, the PR-680L can be supplied with optical accessories such as a cosine receptor for illuminance, LR-127 LED Analyzer for testing LED's to CIE 127, fiber probe for remote non-line-of-sight testing, and a series of magnification lenses for small spot size analysis. The PR-680L also provides the capability for interactive display white point calibration (RGB Software).

Connectivity

It's easy for the PR-670 to talk to the outside world - it comes equipped with USB and Bluetooth (optional) wireless interfaces. It is supplied with remote control capability using simple text commands and a USB driver that emulates an RS-232 interface (COM: port) making it a simple task to generate custom programming to perform specific tasks or for seamless integration into an ATE environment. If required, an optional traditional RS-232 Interface can be added.

6680-0003-05* PMT-ND1 Neutral Density Filter for PMT Detector
Provides an internal, fully automated Neutral Density (ND) 1.0 filter to the PMT detector system of the PR-680. The attenuation of this filter is 10X (0.1 transmission) thereby enabling the PR-680 to measure luminance levels ten times higher with the ND filter than without it.

Displays full color CIE 1931 Chromaticity Diagram with measured point following a measurement on the instrument.
6680-0003-09 CIE Pass / Fail
Create regions in the CIE 1931 chromaticity diagram that act as Pass / Fail criteria. If the measured color falls in the specified region, Pass is reported on the instrument display or Fail if the measured point falls outside the region. The measured point and region are also displayed on a color 1931 CIE diagram. Regions can be defined as squares, rectangles, polygons (3 - 10 sides), circles or ellipses. When not enabled, a full color CIE 1931 Chromaticity Diagram with measured point is displayed.
6680-0003-10 Color Rendering Index (CRI)
Calculate all 14 CRI indices and the average CRI (using indices 1 - 8). User selectable or automatically generated reference. CCT and chromaticity tolerances are also set by the operator. Results are reported on the instrument display.
6680-0003-13 Flicker Analysis
Provides the ability to characterize the flicker component of the DUT and graphically report the results on the instruments display. The resultant graph includes the measured flicker frequency (in Hz) and intensity (in dB).

6680-0008-07* IS-680 - Integrating Sphere
This 3" (76.2 mm) integrating sphere is designed to measure small point sources (e.g. miniature lamps, LED's, etc.) over 4p steradians. It includes a sample mounting fixture that accepts 0.125" (3.18mm) and 0.250" (6.36mm) sources and replaces the MS-75 during use. The mounting fixture is adjustable so that the tip of the sample is positioned precisely at the entrance port of the sphere. Calibrated for Radiant Flux (watts) and Luminous Flux (lumens). Replaces the MS-75 during use.

Designed to measure discrete LED's, the accessory accepts 0.125" (3.18 mm) diameter and 0.25" (6.36 mm) diameter LED's. Calibrated for radiant intensity (µw * sr-1) and luminous intensity (millicandela) with an 8° acceptance angle. Replaces the MS-75 during use.

Consult factory for alternate LED diameters.
6680-0008-14* LR-127 - CIE 127 - LED Analyzer
This patented optical accessory is designed to test discrete LED's for compliance to CIE 127. Tests both conditions A (far) and B (near) of the CIE recommendation. Calibrated for luminous intensity (millicandelas). Both conditions can be tested with the flip of a lever from 'A' to 'B'. No need to change tubes or even remove the LED between tests. Accepts T1 (3 mm) and T1.75 (5 mm) packages. Replaces the MS-75 during use.

Reflectance Standards

6680-0008-05* RS-3 - Reflectance Standard
2" diameter (51 mm diameter) PTFE reflectance standard used for making ambient light measurements, measurements of point sources (e.g. lamps) or measurements of the illuminating source for reflectance or L*a*b* calculations. The RS-3 is uncalibrated, meaning that all spectral reflectance correction factors are set to 1.00. SAE ¼ - 20 thread, black anodized, aluminum case.
