We are proud to announce the new PR-650 RGB Color Analyzer. The PR-650 RGB has been
created to provide a spectrally based solution for the white point calibration of
CRT's, LCD's and digital projectors. The PR-650 RGB has a distinct advantage over
existing filter instruments like the Minolta CA-100 because of its spectral capabilities,
i.e. no errors due to filter mismatch. It can be used to calibrate displays in one
of two modes - a learn mode or by entering target chromaticity and luminance values.
A graphic interface provides an easy method for adjusting the RGB levels to the
desired values.
In addition to the new RGB capabilities, the PR-650 RGB system can be used to make
direct measurements of luminance, CIE Chromaticity (1931 xy and 1976 u'v') and correlated
color temperature. The standard PR-650 measurements such as L*a*b, L*u*v, ΔE*, ΔYxy, ΔYu'v'
and Δ CCT are not available in the PR-650 RGB. However,
these values are available if you use SpectraWinT
or purchase an optional PR-650 RAM card.

Two Plus Instruments in One
|
|
A majority of traditional display calibration systems are dedicated to one specific
task and cannot be used for anything else. When not being used to calibrate the
white point of displays, the PR-650 RGB Color Analyzer can be used as a traditional
spectroradiometer to address a myriad of light measurement applications impossible
for other testers. |
|

|
|
Non-Contact
|
|
The PR-650 RGB Color Analyzer uses the patented PritchardŽ through-the-lens optical
system, so there is no "suction cup" required. Some display types such as LCD's
cannot tolerate a contact system. Digital projector calibrations, which require
sampling the screen, are impossible using contact type sensor technology. |

Easy Upgrade
|
|
For current PR-650 (or PR-645) owners, adding the RGB capability is as easy as contacting
us with the serial number of your instrument and shipping instructions. We will
send you a new RAM card with pre-installed RGB Color Analyzer software . You just
plug it in and turn it on to begin - no recalibration of the instrument is necessary.
You now have an interactive, spectrally based white point calibrator for a fraction
of the cost of other solutions. |

|
|
Added Power
|
|
Now you can add Windows based, interactive display white point calibration capabilities
to your existing PR-6XX or PR-7XX SpectraScan spectroradiometer with RGB for Windows.
RGB DisplayCal software can be ordered as a stand alone executable, or as an option
to existing SpectraWinT 2 software (not available
for SpectraWin 1.XX versions). |
 |
|
With RGB DisplayCal, you get all of the capabilities of the PR-650 RGB Color Analyzer
(comparative or absolute calibration of displays) plus enhanced features such as
a CIE diagram (1931 or 1976) with continuously updated target and measured icons
and updated tabular data - all on your laptop or desktop PC. We've also added an
easy-touse RGB bar graph that lets you know when the display under test is properly
calibrated. The resolution of the bar graph can be set to manual or automatic to
facilitate adjustment ease. |

Wizardry in Action
|
|
For displays that do not fall into the RGB DisplayCal pre-defined CRT phosphor sets
(NTSC, EBU, SMPTE, HDTV or CIE) the RGB Wizard allows you to define display primary
values through measurement or data entry. This can be especially useful when developing
a new display type (for example - OLED display research) where no standard (or "golden
unit" for comparative tests) exists. |
